What is the preview URL?
When your conversion is ready, you receive a URL for a staging version of your new site. This is your full site, on the new platform, with all your pages and content, at a temporary address.
Your live WordPress site keeps running normally at your real domain. Visitors still see your current site. Nothing has changed for them.
You are the only one looking at the preview.
What do I check during the review?
Check everything. Go through every page. Compare it to your current site.
Here is a practical checklist:
- Does every page exist?
- Does all the text look correct?
- Are all images present and loading?
- Does the homepage look right?
- Do the contact forms work?
- Do all internal links go to the right places?
- Does the site look right on your phone?
If you find anything that needs fixing, write it down and send it to us. We will make the changes and you will review again.
How many rounds of changes can I request?
As many as you need. The goal is a site you are happy with. There is no limit on revision rounds and no time pressure.
Most owners need one or two small corrections. Some need more. That is fine. We do not push you to approve before you are ready.
What happens after I approve?
You give us the go-ahead. We prepare the DNS switch. The A and CNAME records for your domain are updated to point to your Basalt site.
DNS propagation takes 0 to 48 hours. During that window, some visitors may briefly see your old site. This is normal and temporary. When propagation is complete, everyone sees your new Basalt site.
Your old WordPress site stays on your old hosting. It does not disappear. You can cancel that hosting whenever you are confident everything is working on the new site.
